UCF and Georgia Tech have agreed to a home-and-home football series beginning when the Yellow Jackets visit Orlando in 2017, and the Knights will make the return trip to Atlanta in 2020.

UCF-Georgia Tech Football Series
Sept. 16, 2017 – at UCF
Sept. 19, 2020 – at Georgia Tech

The two programs met three times in Atlanta from 1996-00, which were the first five seasons UCF was an FBS member. Leading the Yellow Jackets during that span was George O’Leary, who guided Tech from 1995-01 in what was his first stint as a college head coach. After two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings from 2002-03, he took the reins at UCF in 2004.

Georgia Tech won those three games to claim a 3-0 lead in the series, with two of those meetings being decided by seven points or less.

UCF has played 10 teams currently in the ACC, with wins over Boston College, Louisville and NC State. Georgia Tech will be the seventh ACC program to have visited the Knights’ home turf (Boston College, Miami, NC State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Virginia Tech).

Dating back to Bright House Networks Stadium’s debut in 2007, UCF has hosted three teams from the ACC (Miami, NC State, Boston College), two from the SEC (South Carolina, Missouri) and one from the Big 12 (Texas). The Knights also welcomed BYU to campus in 2014, and were the host institution for their trip to Ireland to play Penn State.

Among the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, SEC and Pac-12, the Knights are already scheduled to host Maryland (2016) and Stanford (2019) in future seasons along with Georgia Tech.
