UCF senior right-handed pitcher Zach Rodgers earned Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger Second Team All-America honors Thursday. Rodgers is the first Knight to be recognized on an All-America team since first baseman/designated hitter D.J. Hicks and left-handed pitcher Joe Rogers in 2012.

The Glendale, Ariz., native logged just under 100 innings and complied a 2.35 ERA and 10-1 overall record with one save. Rodgers totaled 94 strikeouts and held opponents to a .231 batting average.
The 2015 American Athletic Conference first teamer registered four complete games including a three-hit shutout at Tulane on April 18. He registered four 10-plus strikeout performances, including a pair of career-high 11 strikeout games at Cincinnati (4/4) and at Tulane (4/18).

He was stellar in league contests, posting a 1.46 ERA with a 7-0 mark, fanning 62 in 61.2 innings of work. Rodgers' opponents were held to a .187 batting average.
Rodgers went a stretch of 35 innings from March 29-April 18 where he struck out 34 and allowed just two earned runs.

The Knights now have 12 players that have earned All-America distinction during the Division I era. Rodgers joins Time Barber (1985), Chad Mottola (1992), Justin Pope (2001), Jason Arnold (2001), Jeremy Kurella (2001), Matt Fox (2004), Kyle Bono (2004), Shane Brown (2010), Chris Duffy (2010), D.J. Hicks (2011-12) and Joe Rogers (2012).

UCF finished the campaign with a 31-27 record and 10-14 conference mark. The Knights begin preparations for the 2015-16 campaign in August.
