The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the signing of guard Ali Marpet, one of their two second-round selections in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Marpet (6-4, 307) was chosen 61st overall from Hobart College, the highest that any player from a Division III school has ever been drafted. He played in 41 career games at Hobart. As a senior, was an AFCA All-American, a D3football.com first-team All-American and Liberty League Co-offensive Player of the Year, becoming the first offensive lineman in league history to earn the distinction.

A native of Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, Marpet attended Hastings High School, where he was a three-time varsity letterman, playing offensive tackle and defensive end. He earned second-team All-State honors and was a two-time All-League selection. Marpet also played basketball at Hastings, earning League honors twice.
