It may be the off-season but several members of the UCF women’s soccer team are finding ways to rack up awards.

Sophomore Kayla Adamek and recently graduated Sophie Howard were honored as W-League All-Conference selections. Adamek, representing the Laval Comets, was named to the Northeastern team while Howard, of Colorado Pride, appeared on the Western team.

The pair were among 33 players in the league recognized with the award. The W-League All-Conference Teams are chosen through a vote of team management.

Howard’s Colorado Pride advanced to the W-League Championship match over the weekend, where they came up just short of the title in a 2-1 loss to the Washington Spirit.

The W-League is the first and longest-standing women’s soccer league in North America. Featuring current and former international and professional stars, the W-League also provides elite amateurs the opportunity to compete while maintaining their eligibility as student-athletes.

In addition, newcomer Maura Aman was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Spring State All Star Team for Virginia.

A native of Annandale, Aman netted assisted the game-winning header in this year’s Conference 7 championship game. During her prep career at WT Woodson, she collected multiple all-district honors and served as team captain in 2015.

Season tickets are now available for $30, good for one-general admission seat to all 2015 regular season home matches. As a bonus, season-ticket holders will also receive a special soccer scarf.
