The No. 9/11-ranked Florida State football team continued preparation for Wake Forest on Tuesday in the Albert J. Dunlap Practice Facility.

Forecasts are calling for rain in Winston-Salem for the 3:30 p.m. game (ESPN) on Saturday at BB&T Field and the Seminoles got a lot of practice using wet balls to replicate possible conditions.

The matchup with the Demon Deacons will be 15 days since the Noles’ last contest at Boston College, but FSU has remained hungry through the bye week and into game prep week.

“It was a good Tuesday for the most part,” Fisher said. “About 75 percent of practice was really good. We had a little lull, but then we picked it up. I’m proud of what they did, they’re practicing better, the execution is better (and we’re) getting better in some things.”

Florida State is ranked sixth in scoring defense (10.0) and eighth in total defense (256.3) and the Noles defense is expected to be bolstered by the return of sophomore defensive end Lorenzo Featherston.

The Greensboro, N.C., native is expected to make his 2015 season debut on Saturday after playing in 11 games a year ago and recording 5.0 TFLs. Featherston had been praised by Fisher in the spring and during fall camp as one of the team’s defensive leaders, before being sidelined at the beginning of the season.

The 6-7, 229-pounder made his first career start versus Wake Forest last season and had career highs in tackles (seven) and tackles for loss (2.5).

Fisher said he is practicing well on Tuesday.

“He made a heck of a play right there, tipped the ball right there at the end on the rush and you see him getting better and better every day,” Fisher said.
