It was a tale of two halves on the Game at the Week in front of a packed house at The Tiger Palace in Tampa, as #1 Tampa Catholic rode a dominating second-half performance to defeat #3 Jesuit, 76-61.

The Tigers opened up a double-digit lead in the first half, holding the Crusaders to 27% from the field and riding the hot hands of Stephen Darst and Ryan Fleming to a 32-27 halftime lead. Darst finished with a team-high 22 points, after scoring 28 points Tuesday vs. Berkeley Prep, while Fleming pitched in 16 points.

But Kevin Knox showed why he's the nation's 6th-rated junior, and silenced the Blue Tide in the second half, as he finished with 32 points and 15 rebounds, his 16th double-double of the season, and earned Player of the Game honors. With an off night from sharpshooter Thomas Dziagwa, it was up to Tai Strickland to pick up the slack. The sophomore son of former NBA All-Star Rod Strickland scored a season-high 19 points (all in the second half), shooting 6-for-13 on 3-point FG. Junior Nick Giorgi also set a new season-high, coming off the bench to score 10 points.

Tampa Catholic and Jesuit split the season series for the second straight year, while Jesuit leads the all-time series 67-49.

The Crusaders finish 21-4 in the regular season and as the #1 seed in 4A District 9 will await the winner of CCC-Cardinal Mooney in the district tournament next week. Jesuit (20-5) is the #2 seed in 5A-9 after a three-way tie for first and will face Jefferson in the district semifinals. The two teams split the regular season meetings, and the Tigers will need a victory to clinch their seventh straight postseason appearance.
