The Bartow High School Cheerleading Squad, especially Keyshawn Leflore, should be cheerful.

Fans flocked to see 15 varsity squads in action at Bartow’s Inaugural “Chase the State” Competition.  But, the real draw is Bartow Squad Team Leader, Keyshawn Leflore.

Leflore is one of the top prospects in the country, lives for the thrill of competition, and is our Athlete of the Week.  Leflore said having a big competition like “The Chase” is like being at State Championships, with all the adrenaline, energy from the fans, and getting the Yellow Jackets ready for whatever they have to do kill it.

Coach Lori Joliff said of Leflore, “Keyshawn’s energy is contagious.  He just has fun out there.  And the girls feed off of that energy”.

“Rise and Grind” is the motto for Bartow.  And, with back-to-back state titles in 2014 and 2015, they know they’ll need Leflore's leadership, energy, and experience for the coveted three-peat.
