Both teams from the boys and girls sides won state titles for the first time in each school's history as the Bartram Trail Bears knocked off the six-time defending state champion Vero Beach Indians 8-7 in overtime in the girls bracket. On the boys side, St. Thomas Aquinas defeated the Ponte Vedra Sharks 13-11 to cap off an exciting weekend after surviving a triple overtime thriller against the Benjamin School the night before in the semifinals.

The Bears jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and kept the Indians at bay until late in the second half when sophomore Sydney Bracken scored on a free position shot to tie the game at 7. Bartram Trail senior attacker Lexi Marcionette scored four goals on the day, none bigger than the side armed one that she let fly with just 8.7 seconds left in the first overtime giving the Bears their first victory over Vero Beach. Marcionette was named the BHSN Player of the Game and finished the day with 4 goals and an assist.

Both teams on the boys side entered the contest undefeated and early on it looked like it might go down to the wire as both teams exchanged goals with St. Thomas Aquinas leading 8-7 at the half. But the Raiders used crisp passing and stellar goalie play from senior captain Michael Adler to hold off the Sharks attack en route to the 13-11 victory. Adler stopped 10 shots and was named the BHSN Player of the Game.
