Just call it deja vu.  Former Florida State University (FSU) defensive back Javien Elliott was originally a walk-on in 2014, who eventually earned a scholarship and starting position with the Seminoles.  Elliott finally got a chance to prove himself in 2015 when FSU Defesnive Back Trey Marshall went down in a game against Louisville.  Elliott wrapped up his lone season as a starter with 37 tackles, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one sack, and one interception in 12 games.

Fast forward to 2016.  After Buccaneers safety John Lowdermilk was placed on the reserve-retired list, a roster spot opened up.  The Bucs then signed Elliott as an Undrafted Free Agent, forging a path to Tampa Bay that could prove similar to the road traveled in Tallahassee.

Elliott understands that it will take a mammoth effort to make the Bucs’ final roster.  But, he said he’s excited to be in the moment that is before him.
