It’s something that’s second nature for the Pride at this point, playing away from the friendly confines of Camping World Stadium.

“On the road is all I know at this point,” said Pride goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris. “Probably for the past few years. I think I feel more comfortable in hotels than I do my house, so it doesn’t affect me.

But the Pride have been affected. In their five previous road matches they’ve only won one of them. Saturday’s game against the Spirit will end Orlando’s streak of 4 straight on the road.

“This week is about maintaining,” said Harris. “It’s about getting to the tactics of how we want to play moving forward against DC and that’s what we’ve been doing.”

Currently the Pride are three points out of first place in the NWSL standings. The Spirit are two points ahead of them, but Harris says every match going forward needs to be considered a must win.

“We need to set ourselves up because roles will change when the Olympics come, and we will be losing a lot of players. So right now putting our focus in the upcoming games, and getting as many points as we can is going to give us some cushion for those time when we’re not going to be here.”
