The Bright House Sports Network Varsity Reporter program is designed to give motivated students an opportunity to hone in on their reporting, production, and journalism skills while gaining experience from professionals in the industry. Students will create professional video packages or written articles that highlight students and athletes at their schools and in their communities.
Students will be selected on an annual basis, based on teacher recommendation, interest, or accomplishments and must be a member of a journalism, television production, or yearbook class to participate. In addition, schools must turn in a minimum of 20 articles or videos each academic year with at least 10 occuring between August and December.
The content displayed on the Varsity Reporter website is entirely the work of participating high schools, who are wholly responsible for elements, production value and images contained therein. Bright House Sports Network is the website administrator only, and provides no input on content other than graphic elements and licensed music selections.
