A polluted creek in Clearwater could stay that way for quite a while longer.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, plans to dredge Stevenson Creek have hit another snag. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has fired a contractor from the project for the second time.

According to the Times, the second contractor started work earlier this year but ran into problems complying with environmental regulations. The Corps hasn't said why that contractor was fired.

People who live along the creek say they're frustrated because boats can only go through at high tide. And low tide exposes smelly sludge.
