ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney World is celebrating some new additions to their Hartmann's mountain zebra family at Animal Kingdom this month, officials announced Thursday.

The foals were delivered by four different mothers thoughout the summer months, officials said. Two of the births were just eight days apart. 

Second-time mom Aziza, delivered a male foal on July 16. The two are bonding in a backstage area before they run out onto the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.

On July 8, first-time mom Asha also gave birth to male foal and officials say he's already exploring his surroundings. 

Juno, another second-time mom, gave birth to a female foal named Cada, and has been prancing around with her older sister named Cricket.

The oldest of Disney's foals, named Penne, arrived on June 13. She and mother, Heidi, have been welcoming guests around the savanna. 

Hartmann’s mountain zebras are found on slopes and plateaus in mountainous areas found in sub-Saharan Africa. According to Disney's Animals, Science and Environment specialists, the new arrivals are special for the Hartmann’s mountain zebra species, as these animals are currently listed as a vulnerable species due to habitat loss and hunting.

The four foals and their mothers will continue to be monitored by Disney animal health specialists.
