PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision in Pasco County Friday morning.

Troopers said a Honda was traveling northbound on US 98, just south of Stanton Hall Drive, when the driver attempted to pass a slower vehicle and entered the southbound lane of US 98 into the path of the motorcycle.
The Honda and motorcycle collided nearly head-on, troopers said, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected from the bike.
The motorcyclist, identified as Daniel Joseph Reed, 31, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.
The 72-year-old male driver of the Honda and the two passengers in the vehicle were seriously injured in the crash.
All three were transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital.
The crash occurred around 9:40 a.m. Friday.
According to the report, charges are pending.
