- Medals feature rendering of Skyway Bridge
- 2nd annual race scheduled for March 3, 2019
The front of the official race medal features a rendering of the Skyway Bridge on a circle centerpiece with the engraving “Saluting Military Families” along its curvature. The three-inch-tall centerpiece lays against a 3 ½-inch-wide, American-flag backdrop. The back of the medal features an imprinted Armed Forces Families Foundation logo. The entire medal is 3 ½ millimeters thick.
The medal’s ribbon includes a sublimated design and features an American flag, Uncle Sam, and a silhouette of the Skyway Bridge.
The t-shirts that will be given out are red with the Skyway 10K logo in blue over a white horizontal stripe in the center of the shirt featuring the date of the upcoming race. The right sleeve features the Armed Forces Families Foundation logo and the right sleeve bears a white and red American flag.
The shirts are dye-sublimated, meaning the design of the shirt is dyed into the fabric, which reduces fading and maintains the moisture-wicking properties of the fabric.
“We are unbelievably happy with the way our products have turned out and can’t wait until they are in the hands of Skyway 10K runners,” said Brian Horne, race director at Skyway 10K. “Our partners who worked with us to create these incredible mementos understand that these keepsakes are more than just metal and fabric; these items will serve as a reminder to Skyway 10K runners of their experience and how they helped military families.”
The 2019 Skyway 10K is scheduled to take place on March 3. It is the largest fundraising event benefiting the Armed Forces Families Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides 100 percent of the funds they raise back to projects to help military families.
