PLANT CITY, Fla. — Plant City police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a 21-year-old dead.

According to police, Miquel A. Hernandez Jr. was killed when he and two other men were struck by a vehicle while walking on State Road 574 late Sunday night.
Hernandez and two other men from Dover, ages 21 and 20, were walking eastbound on SR 574 after having left Fuego Bar & Grille.
Police said it is unclear whether the trio was walking on the roadway shoulder or on the sidewalk.
As the men were walking, they were struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on SR 574, according to police.
After striking the men, the vehicle failed to stop and continued eastbound on SR 574 away from the crash scene, without stopping to render aid or assistance.
Plant City Police and Fire Rescue units quickly arrived on scene.
Hernandez died at the scene.
The other two men sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment
Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspected vehicle is possibly a General Motors SUV, in the 2007 - 2014 model year range. The vehicle model may possibly be a Cadillac Escalade SUV, A Chevrolet Tahoe or a GMC Yukon.
The color of the suspect vehicle will be pearl white metallic. The damaged areas would include the headlights amber colored turn signal lenses and rear view mirrors. There is no other vehicle information is available at this time.

Criminal charges are pending.
