Florida’s legislative session begins in two months, and DeSantis is promising legislation that will create what he calls family friendly tax cuts, expand gun rights and make it more difficult for teachers to join unions.
While he hasn’t announced details, DeSantis has also said he supports additional restrictions on abortions.
Here are some the priorities he's already laid out:
- A grand jury investigation into COVID-19 vaccines to determine if there was any wrongdoing or false claims by the pharmaceutical companies.
- Expanding gun rights in the state...the governor say he will sign what supporters call "constitutional carry" which is carrying a concealed firearm without a special permit.
- And the possibility of further restrictions on abortion. The governor has suggested he would support restrictions beyond the current 15-week abortion ban.
