TAMPA, Fla. — While we’ve seen two planes landing at Tampa International Airport carrying Americans evacuated from Israel, there are some local Palestinian Americans who are crying for help to get their love ones out of the Gaza Strip.

What You Need To Know

“I don’t know if they are in a safe area," Hana Elnagar said. “I don’t know if they are … I don’t know anything about my kids.”

It's a worry so profound for Elnagar that friends say she can't eat, she can't sleep, she can't think about anything right now except for her children, Mara, Yasir, Meara, Abdelrman and Amier. Ranging in ages from 3 to 11, the children and their father traveled to Gaza to visit relatives just before the war began.

The last time Elnagar spoken with any of them was Oct. 10.

“From that time until now, I tried to call,” she said. “Try to do everything to try to know at least where are my kids.”

To add to her worry is her fear, knowing that death and destruction have already happened so close to where her family is.

She has received news that a close family friend was killed in the neighborhood she said her children were staying.

Her hope now is that somehow her family will be saved and make their way back.

“I don’t know nothing about my kids," she said. “I want to know where my kids are. I want anyone who can help me, where are my kids, please tell me.”
