TAMPA, Fla. — It's that time of year again!
On Saturday, little pirates will take over Bayshore Boulevard for the Children’s Gasparilla parade.
What You Need To Know
- The Children’s Gasparilla parade is Saturday. Tampa Bay’s young pirates can participate in the festivities from noon to 7:30 p.m.

Preparations on the surrounding roadways will begin Friday at 8 p.m.
Bayshore will be closed from Gandy Boulevard to Platt Street and Channelside Boulevard also will close.
So will the north off-ramp from Davis Islands Bridge to Bayshore Boulevard.
There will also be a small road closure from Ysabelle Avenue to Bayshore on Bay to Bay Boulevard.
As for Saturday, police are ready to keep you and your kids safe.
With a lot of people expected on Bayshore, they say parents should stay proactive too.
“Take a picture of your kids the day of the events and what they’re wearing,” said Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw. “If you’re separated that picture will be invaluable to law enforcement and helping to reunite families.”
Police say it might also be a good idea to take a picture of where you park your car.

Saturday, Jan. 10 – Saturday, Jan. 24:
- Close Bayshore Blvd. Crossovers at DeSoto Ave., Nance Ave., Albany Ave. and Gunby Ave.
Friday, Jan. 17 at 10 p.m.:
- Close Bayshore Blvd. Northbound/Southbound from Gandy Blvd. to Platt St./Channelside Dr.
- Close Davis Islands Bridge off-ramp onto Northbound Bayshore Blvd.
Saturday, Jan. 18 at 12:01 a.m.:
- Close Bay-to-Bay Blvd. from Ysabella Ave. to Bayshore Blvd.
Saturday, Jan. 18 at 9 a.m.:
- Close one Eastbound Lane and one Westbound Lane on Bay-to-Bay Blvd. from MacDill Ave. to Ysabella Ave. (to accommodate Pedestrian Walkway).
Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m.:
- Close Eastbound Bay-to-Bay Blvd. at MacDill Ave.
