A female Hartmann’s mountain zebra was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge earlier this month, Disney announced Thursday.
The foal, born on Oct. 13, can be seen roaming around the resort’s savanna and bonding with its mother, Zoey.
Disney shared pictures of the foal, her mother and the rest of the zebra herd on social media.
“Hartmann’s mountain zebras are classified as vulnerable, so this birth is exciting news for the species and our animal care team,” said Dr. Mark Penning, vice president of Disney's Animals, Science and Environment, in an Instagram post.
In May, Disney announced the birth of a male Hartmann’s mountain zebra at nearby Animal Kingdom park. The foal was later named Dash and added to the herd at the park’s Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction.
