  • GAS PRICES DIP: Thursday sees the Sunshine State's average gas prices taking another tumble, stated AAA. Florida's average gas price on Thursday is $3.48 per gallon, a three-cent drop from the day before. The national average price of gas on Thursday is $3.66 per gallon, the same as the previous day, according to AAA.   • MULTIPLE ALGAE BLOOMS IN POLK: The Florida Department of Health in Polk County (DOH-Polk) has issued a health alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algal toxins in Lake Conine, Lake Gibson, Scott Lake, and Tiger Lake. The new Gateway Expressway set to open in Pinellas County

The long-awaited Gateway Expressway is set to open tomorrow afternoon.
