ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — As expected the clouds increased across the area with a few light showers and sprinkles drifting in from the west. Skies will remain mostly cloudy into early Wednesday morning. 

Lows will be warmer, mainly in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Skies will go from mostly cloudy Wednesday morning to partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will reach the mid 80s. 

There will be a 20 percent chance of a shower. 

Humidity levels will be a little higher the next couple days in response to an approaching weather system to our west. That will bring more moisture into our atmosphere Thursday into Friday. 

Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Thursday will feature variably cloudy skies with a 40 percent coverage of scattered showers moving across the area. 

Highs will be in the mid 80s again.

Friday will be our best rain chance day with showers moving through the region. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s. 

At this time our guidance indicates the showers exiting Friday evening for any outdoor activities you have planned. 

A cold front will come through the area Saturday morning bringing in cooler air. 

Expect highs in the 70s for Saturday under partly cloudy skies. There will be a small chance of a sprinkle or shower coming in from the Gulf due to the cooler air rushing into the region.
