At around 10:24 p.m., M.T. Jennings was driving his 2002 Buick Le Sabre going southbound in the center lane of U.S. 41, south of Palm Lane, when for some reason he lost control and dove off the road to the right, stated the FHP.

The car spun clockwise and then went in a southwesterly direction as it entered the west shoulder of the road, explained troopers.

The Le Sabre's left side crashed into a concrete utility pole on the outside shoulder of U.S. 41, the FHP noted, adding that there were no pre-crash skid marks at the scene.

Jennings was wearing a seatbelt and the FHP stated that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
