ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg is experiencing sewage issues again.
- St. Pete sewage spill
- Almost 1,500 gallons of waste water spilled Monday
- Spill took place in Eden Isle area
Repairs are needed in St. Petersburg following the discharge of almost 1,500 gallons of waste water on Monday.
The wastewater was discharged out of a manhole at the 1200 block of Eden Isle Blvd. NE due to a line blockage from an unknown material, officials said.
The discharge flowed to a nearby stormwater catch basin. The blockage has been cleared and repairs will be made.
St. Petersburg spilled nearly 200 million gallons of raw or partially treated sewage in Tampa Bay in 2015 and 2016. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has investigated those spills.
Since then, the city has created an Integrated Water Resources Master Plan.
