TAMPA — Five players scored in double figures as USF won its first game under coach Amir Abdur-Rahim with a 96-52 rout of South Carolina State.

Chris Youngblood led South Florida with a game-high 19 points, while Jayden Reid produced a double-double in his collegiate debut.

The 44-point victory is tied for the second-largest margin of victory in program history, trailing only a 49-point win  over Oglethorpe in 1972.

Selton Miguel dropped 18. Sam Hines Jr. was 5-of-6 from the field and added a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line for 12 points. Reid and Jose Placer finished their debuts with 11 points each.

The Bulls went on a 23-3 run in the first half and led by 24 at the halfway point.

Abdur-Rahim took over as coach after a successful run at Kennesaw State, where he led the team to its first-ever NCAA Tournament.

USF returns to action Wednesday night as it hosts Central Michigan at 7 p.m.
