WORCESTER, Mass. - Ask any college football coach or player and they will tell you that teams are built in the weight room.
Holy Cross strength coach Chris Grautski has helped build great players for Holy Cross, including a few recently who are in the NFL.
Grautski makes a lasting impact on the players both on and off the field.
"Yeah, coach Grautski is the heart and soul of this team," said quarterback and captain Joe Pesansky. "I couldn't tell you how fired up everyone was when we found out he was coming back, it was a really big deal and it meant a lot to us. We spend 75% of our year with coach Grautski, that's in the winter, the spring, the summer, that's going to camp, that's lifts during the year. Having coach Grautski there having those relationships with coach Grautski, not only is he our coach and we respect him, but he's also our friend. We can talk to him about anything. He's always there for us."
"He makes sure we're always giving 100%," said wide receiver Justin Shorter. "Everybody's sticking together, and in the weight room it's unexplainable, I came in definitely a lot smaller than I am now ... he makes the best come out of me and the rest of us."
