TAMPA, Fla. — The Juneteenth Cultural Celebration enters its fourth year on Saturday at the Tampa Museum of Art.

What You Need To Know

The celebration will include art-making activities, performances, gallery discussions and local vendors.

This year’s highlight will feature gallery tours from the head of the museum’s education department as well as curator, exploring the connection between the art and the community.

Head of Community and Studio Art Programs Kassanda Abel says one of the museum’s biggest missions is the Juneteenth Acquisition Fund, allowing the museum to acquire works of art from local artists.

Able says this year the museum has added two new local artists.

“It’s about celebrating that freedom, that emancipation, as well as all the contributions to culture, society that Black and African American people have made throughout the years,” said Able.

The Juneteenth Cultural Celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Tampa Museum of Art and runs through 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission is free.
