TAMPA, Fla. — All across the country, people are taking part in what organizers are calling “No Kings” rallies, organized in response to the Trump administration and the president’s policies.

Across Tampa Bay, several people wanted their voices heard.

  • Trump supporters celebrated Flag Day and his birthday with a rally in Madeira Beach

Glenn Almcrenmtz and Clint Barras are just two of the hundreds of people that went to speak out.

“We actually protested this morning in St. Petersburg,” Barras said. “Me with my sister and my wife, so yeah, we just want our voices to be heard.”

Each person has their own reason for being at the large demonstration held in Tampa.

From what’s been going on with ICE to the president’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” these people want their voices to be heard and to see change.

“This is America. We’re a country of immigrants,” Almcrenmtz said. “This is not the right way to deal with a problem that may be at the border.”

“We’re battling disinformation all the time. That’s why I’m here,” Barras said. “I’m outraged, and this is cathartic for me to do something instead of scream at the TV.”

Both Almcrenmtz and Barras are happy to see so many people trying to make a difference.

“I’m glad that people are stepping up,” Almcrenmtz said. “This is what we need to get our leaders to recognize that they’re not following the right path.”

As those protests took place, supporters of President Trump held a rally in Madeira Beach.

They came together to celebrate Flag Day, as well as President Trump’s 79th birthday.

“I just believe that we should be out here showing support for our president, cause a nation divided cannot stand, that is Abraham Lincoln’s words,” attendee Matthew Harris said. “I’m a good conservative. I don’t call myself republican, I don’t call myself anything. I’m a patriot, whoever is good for our country, that’s who I vote for.”
