TAMPA, Fla. – It’s No. 1 vs. No. 2. The GOAT vs. the Kid.

What You Need To Know

  • Super Bowl matchup features the best

  • Chiefs and Buccaneers, top two offenses in the league this year

The Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers features simply the best. The top two offenses in the league this year. Kansas City, led by Patrick Mahomes, comes in at No. 1. Tom Brady and the Bucs are a close second.

"We’ve got to prepare the best, we’ve got to execute the best [and] we’ve got to perform the best under pressure," Tom Brady said. "If we do that, we’ll be champions."

In terms of Super Bowl star power, this game is in another galaxy. The Bucs boast Brady, Gronk and a trio of Pro Bowl receivers, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown. The Chiefs counter with Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.

"I’m not really excited to play Tyreek Hill, [Travis] Kelce and [Patrick] Mahomes," Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said. "That’s a formidable challenge, but our guys will be up for it."

"We look forward to the opportunity to play them, and I know Pat does with Tom, and I’m sure likewise Tom does with Pat," Kansas City head coach Andy Reid said. "So, it should be a heck of a football game."

These two teams met in Week 12 and turned into shootout, with Tampa Bay losing 27-24. The Bucs rallied to make things interesting, while Kansas City’s weapons were on full display from the opening kickoff.

"I always thought Deion Sanders was the fastest guy I’ve ever seen on a football field and I think he might have to yield that crown to Tyreek Hill," Joe Bucs Fan columnist Ira Kaufman said. "I mean, what a dynamic player and just ask Bucs fans because they had their fill of him in the first quarter the first time around when he had over 200 yards in the first 15 minutes."

The Bucs are a much different team now. One only needs to look at their postseason run as proof. Brady became just the fourth quarterback to take two different teams to the Super Bowl. He can become only the second to win a title with different teams.

"We’ve learned one thing this year, Tom Brady’s not done. Not by a long shot," Pewter Pirates contributor Roy Cummings said.

The Bucs offense wasn’t always one of the league’s best. They were a work in progress throughout most of the season. But something happened after the bye week that helped lead to a seven-game win streak and a spot in the Super Bowl.

"If everybody just digs a little deeper, we’ll figure out ways to win games," Arians said. "Once we get going, we’re going to be hard to stop."

That’s the task facing both defenses in Super Bowl LV - how do you stop the league’s best offenses.

"There isn’t one person you can follow on that team and think you’re going to shut down the Kansas City Chiefs," Cummings said. "That’s what makes them so effective. It’s the same with the Buccaneers."
