The Pasco County Sheriff's Office charged 52-year-old Richard Savage with aggravated assault and even child abuse charges because many kids were there.

Yesika Rodriguez lives at the Columns at Cypress Point and had invited some family over to the pool there, who started playing music.

That’s when she looked up at one of the apartments in horror.

“He came out of nowhere,” Yesika said. “He came out of his place with a gun and threatened everybody. It was just awful.”

Savage later admitted he pulled the rifle because the family was playing loud music.

Yesika’s brother Robert Rodriguez was playing the music in his truck. He admits the music was loud but he says Savage’s actions crossed a line.

“He stood there for quite a while pointing the gun, even after the music was off,” Robert said. “Things got real when he actually cocked back his weapon.”

The family says it’s been tough for their kids who all had to witness this.

“I was screaming,” Yeskia said. “I didn’t know if he was going to pull the trigger. He could have killed us.”

Several deputies had to respond because they didn’t know if shots would be fired.

Savage was arrested without incident, and his gun was confiscated.
