TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Lightning are back in the building to drop the puck on another season.

Tampa Bay (1-0 after opening the season on the road with a 4-1 win at Carolina) will be back in Amalie Arena Tuesday night to face Vancouver.

Game time is 7 p.m.

What You Need To Know

  • Tampa Bay Lightning home opener tonight

  • Tampa Bay hosts Vancouver Tuesday at 7 p.m.

  • Lightning set to begin live without captain Steven Stamkos

The Bolts’ home opener was postponed Saturday because of Milton.

The Bolts have discounted tickets to the first three home games as a way to give back to recovering fans.

The team is also hosting a food drive tonight and Thursday night at Ford Thunder Alley. They're collecting items for the community. That starts at 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay is returning a team on the ice that no longer have stalwart and captain Steven Stamkos in the middle of its lineup.

The Lightning also will balance the loss of defenseman Mikhail Sergachev and winger Anthony Duclair with the additions of center Jake Guentzel, defensemen Ryan McDonagh and J.J. Moser and rookie center Conor Geekie.

Stamkos was the face of the franchise for more than a decade, and the Lightning acknowledge their long-time captain will be missed. But the expectations within a team not too far removed from making three straight trips to the Stanley Cup Final — winning it twice — have not changed.

The Lightning feel their championship window is far from closed.

And with a star-studded nucleus of Nikita Kucherov, Victor Hedman, Andrei Vasilevskiy and Brayden Point augmented by talented offseason acquisitions Guentzel and McDonagh, it’s difficult to argue they can’t contend.
