LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Police Department along with the family and friends of Emmery Munoz asked for the public’s help in solving the 2006 murder of the 14-year-old girl, the LAPD announced on Wednesday.
The 19-year investigation of the cold case homicide has led to no substantial leads, with detectives unable to identify any suspects. The motive of the homicide also remains unclear, according to the LAPD.
Munoz was found deceased in the loading dock area of a business located on the 1500 block of Mirasol Street in Boyle Heights. She was last seen alive on Friday, January 20, 2006, in the City Terrace neighborhood of East Los Angeles, According to the LAPD.
