Amber Gerard is a multimedia journalist for Spectrum Bay News 9.

She grew up in Washington D.C. and earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Catholic University of America. She then obtained a master’s degree in International Affairs from the New School for Social Research in New York City.

Amber started her career as a photojournalist at WKRG in Mobile, Alabama. While there, she earned an Alabama Associated Press award for Best Photographer. Amber then worked as a multimedia journalist for WLBT in Jackson, Mississippi. From there, she became a reporter at WGAL in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was part of the team that won a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy for their team coverage of a local manhunt and kidnapping.

Amber is glad to be returning to Florida after attending two summers of Space Camp at Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, this time with her dog, Mathew.

In her free time, she enjoys singing pop-blue grass with her former band or performing her favorite Broadway songs.
