The calf was born to first-time mother Bree on September 29 at the park’s dolphin nursery as visitors looked on.
SeaWorld shared the news Monday on social media.
“We have excited news! Bree, the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin, became a new mother recently,” the post on Facebook read. “Join us in welcoming the newest member of the family.”
The park’s veterinary and animal care team is keeping a close eye on first-time mother Bree and her new baby, providing both with around-the-clock care.
Right now, the team doesn’t know if the calf is male or female. Once they know, SeaWorld plans to hold a contest that will let visitors help name the baby dolphin.
