Walt Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley recently posted a behind-the-scenes look at the Nova Corps Starblaster ship being installed at the entrance of the upcoming attraction.
“Over the coming weeks we’ll be assembling the 51-foot-tall ship, adding finishing details and tying in the landing pad area that surrounds the ship,” Riddley wrote in an Instagram post.
Cosmic Rewind, which is inspired by the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, will be the first Disney coaster to have a reverse launch. It will also be one of the longest indoor coasters in the world, and feature ride vehicles that rotate 360 degrees so riders are always pointed toward the action.
The attraction is part of Epcot’s massive transformation and is located in the newly-designated World Discovery neighborhood.
Disney has not yet announced an official opening date for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
