ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney World is planning to add new Disney Vacation Club villas at its Polynesian Village Resort.

Although Disney hasn’t said how many rooms the proposed DVC tower will have, the expansion is expected to open in late 2024. It will also include new recreation and dining options.
“It’s no secret that our members and guests love the monorail resorts at Walt Disney World,” said Bill Diercksen, senior VP and general manager of Disney Vacation Club, in a news release. “Expanding our Disney Vacation Club offerings at the Polynesian would give our members and guests yet another incredible option for staying close to the magic while making vacation memories that last a lifetime.”
In the news release sent Tuesday, Disney said the new villas will “complement the existing resort” and “evoke the spirit of the Pacific Islands.”
With the addition of the new villas, the Spirit of Aloha dinner show will not be returning to the resort. However, Disney says the new addition will pay homage to the show.
The Polynesian Village Resort currently has 380 Disney Vacation Club villas, including the two-bedroom Bora Bora Bungalows on the Seven Seas Lagoon.
