Instead of a standby line, a virtual queue will be in place when the coaster opens. To access the attraction, visitors with valid admission and a park reservation for Magic Kingdom can request to join the virtual queue using the My Disney Experience app.
Disney has used its virtual queue system before when debuting new rides such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT and, most recently, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Visitors will also have the option to purchase individual Lightning Lane entry to TRON. Pricing has not yet been released.
Disney also revealed that TRON will utilize a new double-sided locker system for riders to store their bags and loose items.
The complimentary lockers will be located inside the attraction queue and will pair directly with a rider’s MagicBand, MagicBand+ or ticket, according to Disney. Riders without a MagicBand or ticket card will be provided with a card to use the lockers
All items must be placed in a locker before boarding, however smaller items such as cellphones, glasses or wallets, can be stored in a small compartment on the Lightcycle vehicle.
TRON will become the first attraction at Disney World to use the new locker system. Most attractions at the resort allow riders to take their items with them on the ride.
TRON Lightycle Run, which is similar to the TRON: Lightcycle Power Run attraction at Shanghai Disney, is inspired by the TRON movies. Riders will join Team Blue and race against Team Orange as they speed through a digital Grid.
