TAMPA, Fla. – A 9-year-old girl was shot at Robles Park Tuesday evening, around 7:14 p.m., according to a release by Tampa Police.

Law enforcement said that according to witnesses, two teenage boys got into an argument on the basketball court at the park located at at E. Lake Ave. and N. Avon Ave in Tampa.

One of the boys went home, grabbed a gun and fired it in the direction of the courts, hitting the girl in the lower back, according to the statement.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and was reported in stable condition.

The teen that fired the weapon was taken into custody and the shooting remains under investigation.
