FLORIDA — If you are a Black woman and you are pregnant, you are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than if you are a White woman.
Spectrum News took a closer look at the real impact from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's findings that more than 80 percent of pregnancy-related deaths in the United States are actually preventable.

This past April, track and field Olympian Tori Bowie died alone in her Orange County, Florida home. The cause of death was listed as complications related to childbirth, including eclampsia, respiratory distress, and high blood pressure. Bowie's child was apparently stillborn.
