After 2.5 million people in New York voted early over the course of nine days, Election Day polls across New York state closed at 9 p.m., and soon after, the Associated Press projected former Vice President Joe Biden to win the state's 29 electoral votes. Absentee ballots can't be counted until the election is finished, though, and the schedule for counting them varies by county. Some races won’t have a clear winner until those mail-in ballots are counted.

Incumbent Rep. Elise Stefanik has declared victory in the 21st Congressional District, and Rep. Chris Jacobs has declared victory in the race for the 27th Congressional District; however, Democratic challenger Nate McMurray says he will not be conceding tonight.

Around New York, robocalls have gone out to voters warning them against going to the polls today; Attorney General Letitia James' office says it's investigating these, and subpoenas have been issued to investigate the source.

Nationally, both President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden have had their say; now it's up to the voters. Keep up with the race for the White House with live updates here.
