Wallenda plans to walk across Legoland's new Pirate Island Hotel while using a balancing pole made out of Legos.

The logistics are still being worked out, but Wallenda said the distance will be about the length of two football fields, and about 60-90 feet above ground.

He said the plank-style high wire he’ll use will be about 5/8 of an inch, about half of the size of the wire used when he made history Wednesday night by walking a one-inch wire more than 1,800 feet across an active volcano.

The walk at Legoland, scheduled for April 16, coincides with the opening of the park’s newest hotel, Legoland Pirate Island Hotel, which officially opens April 17.

“It’s always an honor to perform in my home state near my hometown,” said Wallenda.

Some park guests were excited about the news.

“That’s great. It will be awesome. I’d like to come see it,” said William Kendall, happy that it was scheduled close to his birthday.

Others were skeptical, including Janyah Bradley, a seven-year-old from Detroit, Michigan visiting for the first time.

“That’s good if he makes It,” said Janyah. Her mom said she’d bring her back just to witness it.

Wallenda said the walk will be quite the spectacle.

“I can tell you that I will be wearing something that is pirate-themed for sure for this walk, which will also make it unique," he explained. "I’m actually toying with the idea of actually wearing an eye patch, which would make this walk even more challenging with one eye covered up."

Speaking of challenging, Wallenda said his walk over the Masaya volcano was his most challenging feat yet. It took nearly six years of planning and a crew of roughly 350 people to make it possible. He made it safely across the volcano in just over thirty minutes.

Before the volcano walk stunt, Wallenda walked from tower to tower at Tampa’s Seminole Hard Rock Casino alongside his mother.
