1. Police: Suspect in Lake Wales shooting investigation dies in standoff
The suspect who was involved in a shooting investigation that left a woman and her three children dead has died after a standoff with police, officials with the Lake Wales Police Department said Wednesday.
2. SpaceX to send more than 50 Starlink satellites into orbit
At 3:31 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 4, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 40 to send 56 Starlink satellites into orbit.
3. Fed raises key rate but hints it may pause amid bank turmoil
The Federal Reserve reinforced its fight against high inflation Wednesday by raising its key interest rate by a quarter-point to the highest level in 16 years.
4. Police: Shooting inside Atlanta building leaves 1 dead, 4 injured
Police said in an email that they were actively searching for the suspect and any additional victims. The four injured people were taken to a hospital for treatment and the fourth person was pronounced dead at the scene.

- RAYS UP: The Tampa Bay Rays will play the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight, hoping for another win after a 4-1 game last night. First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. at Tropicana Field.
- TAMPA TRAFFIC ALERT: East 4th Avenue is closed between North 24th Street and North 25th Street as the Tampa Water Department fixes a water main break. There will be barricades and signs in the area to help reroute traffic. The work is expected to be completed with a return to normal traffic patterns by Friday at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
- GAS PRICES: Florida's average gas prices continue its downward trend today, reported AAA. The Sunshine State's average gas price today is at $3.62 per gallon, a one-cent drop from the day before, according to AAA. Find the cheapeast gas prices in the Bay area.
