SNOW IN FLORIDA!

State snowfall record broken in Florida

It was a historic day across the Florida Panhandle on Tuesday with many areas seeing more than 6 inches of snow.

A strong cold front pushed through the state of Florida two days prior to the event, setting the stage for historic snowfall.

Temperatures continued to drop on Monday and into Tuesday up in the Panhandle.

As the snow came in on Tuesday, temperatures fell even more.

A total of 9.8 inches of snow was observed in Milton on Tuesday, the highest snowfall ever recorded in the state of Florida. Read more...

The Pentagon will begin deploying as many as 1,500 active duty troops to help secure the southern border in the coming days, U.S. officials said today, putting in motion plans President Donald Trump laid out in executive orders shortly after he took office to crack down on immigration.

A Homosassa man who was facing charges stemming from the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol has been re-arrested on new gun charges.

4. House will vote on forestry, abortion bills this week
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said Wednesday that he and Senate leaders are working in tandem to advance President Donald Trump’s America-first agenda. After meeting with Trump and Vice President JD Vance at the White House on Tuesday, Johnson said the House plans to vote on two reintroduced bills this week that failed in last year’s Congress: the Fix our Forests Act and the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act.

5. Lake Wales awarded grant to build trail to Bok Tower Gardens
The city of Lake Wales continues to build new trails and improve their streets as the area grows.

6. Bucs offensive coordinator withdraws from consideration for Jags’ coaching job, AP source says
Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who was scheduled for an in-person interview on Wednesday with Jaguars owner Shad Khan, General Manager Trent Baalke and others, pulled his name out of consideration and will sign a new contract with the Buccaneers, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press.
