1. 3 people die, 1 injured in small plane crash near major South Florida highway
The Cessna 310 crashed around 10:20 a.m., apparently because of mechnical issues, authorities said. The plane was headed to Tallahassee International Airport, the FAA said.

- TRAFFIC NOTES | Looking ahead to Monday, daytime closures start in a very busy area of Pasco County — State Road 54 and US 41. FDOT is making road repairs there through the end of May. Lane closures are planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday in both diretions of 54 just west of 41, so give yourself extra time through that area. And in north Polk County, construction continues on U.S. 98 to widen the road to four lanes. That is from Socrum Loop to the Pasco County line. The speed limit is down to 45 mph during the project. Overnight lane closures are expected as well.
- BOLTS HOST RED WINGS | The Tampa Bay Lightning play host tonight to the Detroit Red Wings, with the puck dropping at 7 p.m. After an off day tomorrow, the Bolts host the Buffalo Sabres Sunday at 6 p.m. at Amalie Arena..
- CLEARWATER SAND FESTIVAL | The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival has returned on Clearwater Beach. Running from April 11-27, the festival features the work of 17 professional sand sculptors. Learn more in tonight's On The Town report.
