MARIANNA, Fla. — When you think of nature, many tend to think birds, flowers, or hiking trails. But there's another world under the surface that will expand your imagination.

Here are five things to know about the Florida Cavern State Park before you visit:

1. Where are the caverns? The Florida Caverns State Park is located in the Panhandle in Marianna. The expansive park includes hiking trails, campgrounds, and their claim to the fame — the caverns that go some 60 feet underground!

2. What will you find inside? Inside the caverns you can take a tour walking from room to room, seeing a number of unique geological formations including stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, and flowstones.

3. How do you schedule a tour? Due to rain and occasional flooding of the caverns, workers do ask that you call ahead first before you decide to visit so you can schedule a tour.

4. Cost? To enter the park, it costs $5 per vehicle.
