CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. — A Pinellas County native is offering a way for people to connect with nature and focus on their physical and mental wellness.
Michelle Maurer teaches yoga on Clearwater Beach in front of the Clearwater Hilton Resort.
“I’ve been a teacher in health and wellness throughout my whole life and as a Pinellas county native I just really wanted to share our love of the beaches here with others and connect them to their health and wellness at the same time,” Maurer said.
Maurer has been operating her business for the past 11 years, but her pursuit of wellness has been a lifelong endeavour. As a child with scoliosis, she was constantly looking for ways to improve her health and she found that yoga, in particular, helped her body.
“We really found that with COVID these past couple years, it’s so important to be outside and focus on your physical and mental health. And how awesome is it that we get to show up every day and look for dolphins,” she said. “We are able to share our love of Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach, and we are able to help people reground and breath that clean fresh air.”
Her daily beach yoga classes are from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and designed for beginners and pros. She also offers private sessions.
