Voters passed Amendment 4 in November with over 64 percent of the vote, but will it be implemented?  The Florida state government has a history of failing to implement citizen-driven ballot amendments in recent years: Amendment 1 (Everglades Restoration) in 2014 and severely restricting Amendment 2 (Medical Marijuana) in 2016. Proponents say Amendment 4 does not need supporting implementation language by the State Legislature, and that it automatically goes into effect January 8th.  Some government leaders, including Governor-elect Ron DeSantis, say “not so fast” – they want to weigh-in.
