“News All Day” anchor, Ruschell Boone first met Queens bachata singers Liza and Willie eight years ago when she profiled them on NY1.

We’re happy to report they’re still making music and released their first album last week! To celebrate their new music, our cameras went back to Corona and the beginning of their story.

They’re high school sweethearts who have been together for almost 20 years. They work hard to balance their marriage with two kids, day jobs, and a music career.

There aren’t a lot of female bachata singers. Willie was looking for one all those years ago and invited Liza to join. Liza says that confidence and doing what you love helps you get through the hard times.
