Marshall Goodman is leaving the University of South Florida for good.
The former chancellor of USF Polytechnic, who was criticized for buying giant slides and Star Wars statues with school money, resigned on Thursday, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Goodman had been on paid professional development leave from USF since December, when school president Judy Genshaft demoted him. She gave him the option of returning to campus after a year and as a faculty member making $150,000.
Goodman was investigated after USF received complaints from Poly staffers about a hostile work environment. The investigation will now be closed and no report will be issued to the public.
