Storms that prompted a tornado watch in Central Florida Thursday have moved further south, bringing clear, breezy weather for Friday.

A low pressure area came in from the Gulf of Mexico and prompted a Tornado Warning in the Tampa Bay area, as well as a Tornado Watch in Central Florida's southern counties.

2:40 p.m.

The tornado watch in Central Florida has been cancelled as severe storms shift south of the area.

11:25 a.m.

Tornado Watch until 7 p.m. for Brevard, Orange, Osceola, Polk and Seminole counties.

10:01 a.m.

Rain began moving into the western areas of Central Florida earlier Thursday, though heavier rain tied to a squall line ahead of the front will push though in the afternoon. Expect fast-moving storms, with some severe in strength. Isolated tornadoes, damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning and hail are possible.

The highest threat for tornadoes exists south of I-4 through Thursday afternoon. High temperatures will reach the low to mid-70s north of I-4 and the upper 70s south.

What to expect tomorrow

Friday, drier air moves in behind the area of low pressure. Expect clearing skies and windy conditions through the day. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s to low 70s as winds blow in from the west at 15 to 20 mph with some stronger gusts.

This weekend, high pressure moves in, keeping pleasant and stable conditions in place. Expect abundant sunshine and temperatures at or above normal during the day. Morning lows will be cool, in the upper 40s and low 50s, while afternoons warm into the mid- and upper 70s.
